Australian Quality Framework (AQF) Levels

The AQF is the national policy for regulated qualifications in Australian education and training. It incorporates the qualifications from each education and training sector into a single comprehensive national qualifications framework. The users of AQF span each education sector: schools, vocational education and training and higher education. The AQF levels define the relative complexity and depth of achievement and the autonomy required of graduates to demonstrate that achievement. In the AQF their are 10 levels with level 1 having the lowest complexity and AQF level 10 the highest complexity.

This project will be focusing on AQF levels 3 through to 8. While the more technical skills generally are found between levels 4 to 6 the initial environmental scan of the cloud computing area has identified that there may be a general knowledge requirement at level 3 and that there may also be some higher level professional knowledge and skill requirements around levels 7 and 8.

A table of the AQF levels 3 through 8 covering the variation between the levels in the key AQF categories of knowledge, skills and the application of those skills and knowledge is available below. A summary of the differences is also included and will be used as the basis for determining the correct level for "positioning" the industry cloud certifications identified in Step 1
